National Forecast from Met Éireann. 08 November 2013 07:35 Today Cool and bright today, with sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the western half of the country, with some hail and thunder in places. Top temperatures just 7 to 10 C., in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds. Tonight Cold tonight with clear spells and with most of the showers becoming confined to Atlantic coastal areas as the night progresses. Lowest temperatures -1 to plus 3 C., with a sharp frost developing and some icy patches on untreated roads. Tomorrow Tomorrow Saturday will be another bright, cool day, with sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the western half of the country, with some hail and thunder locally. Top temperatures of just 6 to 10 C., in moderate and gusty westerly winds. Outlook General : Cold Saturday night, with some frost and some icy patches. Milder thereafter, but quite changeable, with some wet and windy periods at times. Details : There will be clear spells and scattered showers during Saturday evening. Much of Saturday night, will be cold, with widespread frost and with some icy patches on any untreated roads. But cloud and rain will spill into the southwest of the country before dawn. Sunday morning will start dry and bright in many places, with some hazy sunshine. Remaining frost will soon clear, but cloud will increase all the while. Very wet and windy weather in the western half of the country during Sunday morning, will affect eastern areas during the afternoon and evening. Some local spot flooding is possible in the south and southwest of the country, where the rain will be quite heavy. Temperatures by late afternoon will range 10 to 13 C., despite the rain and strong and gusty south to southwest winds. There will be widespread hill and coastal fog also. Little change for much of Sunday night, but the windy and wet weather will finally clear, later in the night. Monday will be a mild, bright day. Most places will be dry, with some sunny spells and with just isolated showers. Top temperatures 11 to 14 C., in moderate to fresh southwest winds. Tuesday will be fresher, but with further sunny spells and just well scattered showers. But at this stage, it looks as if some very wet and windy weather will sweep in off the Atlantic, sometime on Wednesday. Small craft warning: Nil Meteorological situation at 0300: An unstable, fresh, southwest to westerly airflow over Ireland moderates. Showery troughs, embedded in the flow are tracking eastwards. Forecast for coasts from Loop Head to Malin Head to Carlingford Lough and for the north Irish Sea Wind: Southwest to west, force 4 or 5 and gusty. Forecast for coasts from Carlingford Lough to Hook Head to Loop Head and the south Irish Sea Wind: Southwest to west, force 3 to 5 and gusty. Winds decreasing force 2 to 4 later on tonight - slackest along the south coast. Weather for all sea areas: Showers, many heavy and some with hail and thunder. But some periods of fair weather also. Visibility for all sea areas: Poor to moderate in showers, good otherwise. Warning of heavy swell: on Southwest, West and Northwest coasts this morning. Outlook for a further 24 hours until 0600 Sunday 10 November 2013: Moderate west to northwesterly winds, later decreasing light. Moderate to fresh southeast winds will develop along Atlantic coasts later Saturday night. Showers, some heavy and thundery, largely die out later.
