National Old School Basketball League XIII Update, 7 December 2014: I want to publicly thank each and every one of you for joining the NOSBL Family. We are happy to have you as new members of our extended family. The second game between the Sparks and Celtics was a good game, as well. The Sparks is the newest team in the league and are constantly adjusting to reach the stamina and chemistry necessary to compete the way they are used to performing as individuals. Yesterday afternoon, the Sparks had to play against the Celtics. The Celtics is the most successful team in the league. They have won five championships and have three players listed in the top 10 list of scorers. To some of you, this might seem like I have just thrown the Sparks under the bus. I hope that is not the case. Since 2008, every new team has gone through the adjustments that the Sparks are experiencing. The first half of the game, between the Sparks and Celtics, belonged to the Celtics as the Sparks struggled to score 17 points. The Sparks leading scorer, #3 Rodney Thomas, scored 10 first half points. The Celtics were led by their Big Three, #32 Sterling Hicks, #23 Tim Sanks, and #24 Jerel Jackson. Hicks made eight 3-pointers to do the most damage. It was a very clean game and filled with respect. The Sparks committed one team foul and the Celtics committed two. The Celtics outscored the Sparks 52 - 17 to end the first half. The second half belonged to the Celtics, as well. They scored 40 points, in the second half, compared to 25 by the Sparks. The Celtics #24 Jerel Jackson led his team with 14 second half points along with 13 from #23 Tim Sanks. Rodney Thomas continued to carry the Sparks with 10 second half points. The Celtics committed three team fouls and the Sparks committed two. The Celtics kept the Sparks contained by defeating them 92 - 42. The Sparks top scorer was #3 Rodney Thomas with 20 points. The Celtics top scorers were #23 Tim Sanks with 33 points, #32 Sterling Hicks with 26 points, and #24 Jerel Jackson with 22 points.
