National Register Nomination for Putiidhem Dear CCRPA board - TopicsExpress

National Register Nomination for Putiidhem Dear CCRPA board members and supporters, Rebecca and I are happy to announce that Friday the State Historical Resources Commission approved the nomination of CA-ORA-855 Putiidhem to the National Register of Historic Places. Rebecca Robles and I attended the hearing in Sacramento and although we were sleep deprived, we spoke in support of the nomination. Adrian Praetzellis, the prehistoric archaeologist on the Commission, commended us on the quality of the application. Because the owners of the property object to the nomination, it will be listed on the National Register as eligible. This listing confers the same level of protection, or lack thereof, as the regular listings. To my knowledge, this is only the 4th archaeological site to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Orange County. Many thanks to Coletta Cole, Acjachemen; Jay Correia, SHPO Registration Unit Supervisor; Amy Crain, SHPO Registration Unit Historian; Sonia Johnston, Acjachemem; Bob Loll, owner information; Mary Maniery, Archaeologist/reviewer; Jeanne Muňoz, Anthropologist/ethnographer; Carol Roland-Nawi, SHPO; Jane Olinger, owner information; Kay Stockwell, Photographer; and Sylvere Valentin, graphics. It takes a village, thanks again for everyone’s support and help, Pat and Rebecca
