National Respiratory Care Week, October 19-25, 2014, is a week set aside to recognize respiratory therapists for their hard work and dedication. The respiratory therapists at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital are licensed practitioners with experience in managing acute and chronic respiratory disorders. They provide a range of respiratory care such as aerosolized medication treatments, lung expansion therapy, mechanical ventilation, sleep studies, in home oxygen and CPAP therapy, and much more. They also spend time educating patients about their lung conditions and the medications used to treat them. As experts in lung health, they team with other departments to develop the best plan of care for their patients.
