National Schools Science Fair at Derek Walcott Square from Wednesday The organisers of the National Schools Science and Technology Fair are thrilled to report that there has been a huge increase in the number of projects qualifying for this year’s science fair being held this year at the Derek Walcott Square. The numbers have increased from 28 last year to 40 this year. There are 15 projects from Primary and Infant Schools [4 from Infant Schools], 20 projects from Secondary Schools and 5 from Tertiary Institutions. The Montessori Centre is the only private Primary School to qualify for the science fair. The 2014 National Schools Science and Technology Fair will be held for the first time at the Derek Walcott Square from Wednesday April 2nd to the 4th2014. The premier sponsor of the event is LUCELEC which contributed $15,000 to the event. Other major sponsors are the Ministry of Education, Monroe College, Bank of Saint Lucia, Radio St. Lucia, Computer World and Blue Waters. Also sponsoring are Windward and Leeward Brewery, Digicel, Du Boulay’s Bottling, SMJ Beverages, Goddard’s Catering, The Trophy Centre and Peter and Company. The theme for the National Schools Science and Technology Fair is Young Minds Working Together to Meet Global Needs through Science and Technology.
