“National Seminar’ 15” Department of Management Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University (PUMBA), witnessed a proud moment at its annual flagship event the “NATIONAL SEMINAR ’15” which was held at Hyatt Regency, Pune. The theme this year was “Changing Global Business landscape: INDIAN VISION. This event was graced by a conclave of eminent dignitaries from the corporate world who shed light on the theme and enlightened the emerging managers elaborating how the dynamic corporate world will pose as a major challenge in today’s time. The event commenced with the Head of Department, Dr. B.V. Sangvikar who stated the four dimensions of globalization, as well as commented on report of the future state 2013, followed by the Chief Guest, Mr. Deepak Tuli, Co-founder of Goibibo who quoted “Innovation is solving a small problem”. He also quoted “Always add value in common life and they will pay you back”. Dr. Captain C.M. Chitale, elaborated how changing attitude is the need of change and is crucial to adapt to the changing business landscape in today’s era. Mrs. Vinati Moghe, V.P., Praj Industries Ltd., emphasized on how everyone should work in unison in creating and following one global standard as well as stated that the mantra is, “The ability of an entrepreneur is to identify the unfulfilled needs”. The event was also graced by Mr. Abhijit Das, V.P., Barclays, who focused on the ten new economic landscapes and the long term growth drivers for India. The panel discussion segment comprised of esteemed personalities including Mrs. Anita Borulkar, Mr. Tanvir Bagwan, Mr. Rupankar Chakrabarti and Mrs. Dhara Shah as the panel speakers and the Moderator for the discussion was Prof. Sunil Kumar. The panelists discussed about digitalizing India and how there has to be a paradigm shift from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for India’, underlining the theme, “Changing Global Business landscape: INDIAN VISION. Dr. E.B. Khedkar, Dean, Faculty of management concluded National Seminar’ 15 by instilling a deep sense of responsibility and motivated the students to emerge as entrepreneurs to adapt to global businesses.
