National discussion on Home Grown Programme set for Tuesday at the Stadium ST. GEORGES, GRENADA, Monday, November 25, 2013 - GIS: Grenadian residents are being given yet another opportunity to participate in an issue of national importance. The home grown Structural Adjustment Programme will be the focus of a national discussion on Tuesday November 26th at the National Stadium from eight until 10 pm. Grenada has made significant steps towards the new programme with support from IMF, international doners and friendly countries. Discussion on the Home Grown Programme on Tuesday at the stadium is organized by the national Social Partners, and is the latest in a series of topics seen as having paramount importance to the country’s development. Topics already covered include jobs, productivity and the national debt. Government is preparing to dispatch a letter of intent regarding the new programme to the Washington Based IMF, ahead of the December board meeting which is expected to approve the initiative. Tuesday’s discussion takes place at the Players Level One Conference Room near the Office of the Grenada Football Association. Persons in attendance will be given an opportunity to ask questions after contributions from panelists representing the stakeholders- Government, Conference of Churches, Grenada Private Sector Organisations, Grenada Trade Union Council and Civil Society. The event will be carried live on national television. The stakeholders’ forum on the home grown Structural Adjustment Programme with support from IMF, international agencies and friendly countries, take place at the national stadium, Players level One conference Room near the Office of the Grenada Football Association, this Tuesday from 8 until 10 pm.
