National is making another print run of really nice plastic membership cards, so, if youre sold on IFGS already (or have played 2 or more games), its time to fill out a membership. Memberships are annual, and only cost $10, and are good until March 31st, 2015 (Thats when IFGSs fiscal year ends). If you can get a membership form and $10 to either myself or Joseph Koch by the end of the week, well send it in with the rest and youll be in the print run for a nice card! Specifically, I know Theo Klapper, Leif Mogren, Brett Russell Roth,and Gwen Firmin were interested in staying with us, and have all played 2 games so far. Caz Dathe, you technically have 1 more grace game before a membership is required, but since they all expire March 31st, it doesnt hurt to pick one up now if you want a nice card and are interested in continuing with us long term, :) Paid members we have so far are myself, Joseph Koch, Derek Paul, Tory Welch, Marina Adamskaya, Natachia Attewell, Stephanie Koch, and Eric Hanchar. Whats the membership good for? Couple things, actually: First of all, memberships allow us to operate under the official IFGS name, license, and, of course, insurance. Think of it as a franchising fee. Second, it supports this chapter! A portion of each membership fee stays with us, for helping budget future games, events and workshops. Third, this is a national membership, not just local. Should you be in the area of another chapter, as a paid IFGS member, you are more than welcome at all their events! Finally, the amount of paid memberships is something of a waypoint for us as a provisional chapter. Once we have a certain amount of national members, along with a few other milestones (successful games ran and such), our provisional restrictions lighten a bit, and we will become a full fledged chapter down the road.
