National strike action will begin tomorrow morning at 6am and consist of two 2hr strikes for 8 days across the country. With the exception of Buckinghamshire, whose Fire Authority has seen fit to shut down all wholetime firefighting provision for 24hrs per day for the whole 8 days. Reasonable offers have been made by the FBU in an attempt to lessen the impact on firefighters and more importantly local communities, these offers have been rejected with no counter proposals coming from BFRS management. The CFO has even been phoning individual Crew Managers of the service in an attempt to get them to work or to explain their reasons for not doing so. Please share this information widely
