National studies show inbreeding and overbreeding at puppy mills - TopicsExpress

National studies show inbreeding and overbreeding at puppy mills cause the offspring to be at high risk for kennel and congenital disease which might not show up for some time after purchasing for premiums as high as $3000. We have reported for over a year now that because of the often high medical costs of mill-produced animals, some families surrender the animals to county shelters and rescues or let them out on the streets as strays. Either way, the public or donors pick up the cost. Arguments are put forth by those who make money off of these animals, but Alley at Canine Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary is living proof.
