Native Words • Native Warriors is a Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit devoted to World War I and World War II Native American code talkers and veterans from more than a dozen different tribes. The exhibit will be displayed at the John Vaughan Library at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah from January 25 through April 7, 2014 In conjunction with the opening of the exhibition, the Sequoyah Institute is sponsoring a lecture by Dr. William Meadows, author of The Commanche Code Talkers of WWII, on Thursday, January 30 at 6:30 pm in the universitys Webb Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow in the John Vaughan Library, where the exhibit will also be open for viewing.
