Nature and culture overlap in Patte Loper’s video trilogy of hand-drawn animations. Lopers work is featured in our exhibit Open Session 2 on view through Dec 14==>goo.gl/W4eO0v The first animation, Zizek, is based on Slavoj Zizek’s lecture, “The Reality of the Virtual.” The second work, All Who Love, animates a tiny bat that has been placed in a glass terrarium, inspired by Jean Painleve’s 1945 film, Le Vampire. Finally, Good Bye 20th Century illustrates a deer that was filmed walking in complete darkness.
