Nature must have made toddlers so adorable so that their parents dont just chuck them out the window when theyre 19 months old and still refusing to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time most nights. Fatigue is setting in. He doesnt sleep well in his room, in our room, in his bed, in our bed, on the floor, by himself, with both of us, with one of us, with a sister. Weve tried all of these scenarios in the past year and a half. There will be days where he only wakes up once or twice and we feel great and like things are looking up and we feel like weve got this sleeping thing down, and then we have a week like this week where no one gets a decent amount of sleep all week, and pretty much all I feel I can do about it is complain on Facebook. Weve read endless articles about how to get your child to sleep, weve tried changing the temperature of the room, the type of clothes he sleeps in, white noise, and we stick to a bath-books-bedtime routine every night. Weve tried earlier bedtimes, later bedtimes, and periods of controlled crying to see if he can soothe himself back to sleep. In my wildest dreams, we have a night nanny.
