Navajo women who blend the American and Navajo philosophies to carry out their work. Their careers and professions influence Navajo life and represent the merging of traditional and contemporary practices occurring through the doorway of the Nation. Navajo medicine people are keepers of the wisdom, traditional faith, and philosophy of iiná—life—on the Nation. Educators inspire children to pursue modern knowledge. And knowledge is embracing new ideas, new concepts and so forth. Having noted that, I also tell ya, The grassroots people have spoken. Im sure Carrie Martin will be a tireless unwavering leader. She would defend our principles and ensure the Navajo Nation that despite a line of controversies, would remain a place of limitless opportunities and unprecedented prosperity. The interesting part is that she is not a career politician-shes an outsider who will fight for our values. Her education remarks that shes capable to generate jobs, improve relationships-the government and its people, and economic growth. We all should be enthusiastic and allow her to thrive, thats when we will see her individual spirit flourish ...thats what I want to see, a very good leader. Lets give the Navajo Women their voice.. Although I know that the laws of the Navajo Nation are founded upon Navajo traditional principles, gender relationships have been transformed in ways that undermine women’s traditional high status. Within the Navajo Nation, women are also considered second class citizens. A Navajo woman has yet to be elected President or Vice President of the Navajo Nation and very few women have served on the Navajo Nation Council. Recent public debates on the question of whether a woman should be president raises questions about whether or not tradition sanctions gender discrimination. Given that the Navajo people base their nation, communities, and families upon principles of matrilineage, it is crucial that women are recognized as citizens who contribute equally to, the well-being and prosperity of the Navajo Nation. Its time for a Navajo Lady...I think the Navajo Nation should consider Carrie Martin for the NN president. ** Elect Carrie Martin ** Tyou very much **
