Navratri – 9 Auspicious Days Navratri is nine-day long festival dedicated to the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga. According to hindu panchang there are 5 different Navratris to be celebrated in a year. Yes, Navaratri is celebrated five times a year. They are Vasanta, Ashadhai, Sharada, Paush and Magha Navaratri. माँ तेरा ही सहारा है, तु ही सुख-कारा है, अम्बे जग तारनी है तु, तु ही एक मात्र हमारा सहारा है| Paush Gupt Navratri Paush Navratri is observed during the Paush Shukla Paksha. Generally falls in the month of December–January. It is also known as Shakambhari Navratri. Magha Gupt Navratri Magha Navratri is observed during the Magha Shukla Paksha. Generally falls in the month January–February. It is also known as Shishir Navrartri. Chaitra Navratri It also known as Basanta Navaratri or Vasant Navaratri. Ninth day is celebrated as Ram Navami, hence it is also called Raama Navratri. Generally falls in the month March – April (spring season). Ashadha Gupta Navratri Popularly known as Gayatri Navratri or Gupta Navratri. Observed during the Ashadha Shukla Paksha. Generally falls during month of June–July( Rainy season). Sharada Navratri This is the most important and widely celebrated Navratri - the garba navratri! It is simply called Maha Navratri or Ashwin Navratri. Generally falls during month of September–October (beginning of winter).
