Nazia W Zada Hopefully it answers your Question. IA* SubahanAllah** Its amazing to me people doesnt yawn outside the prayer as much as they yawn during the prayer. Did u ever see someone the moment they say ALLAHU AKBAR (In the prayer)-the yawn already starts? & during the prayer they are yawning at a RATE that is more than normal. Do u know what rate means??? Time per interval. How much we yawn throughout the day? Its normal to yawn 4 to 5 times in a day..How about this all 4-5 yawn in one prayer--in 1 shot!! When Allah draws the charecteristics of the Believers in Sura Mumenoon the very 1st verse started with this..=> The believers are the winners and then Allah described the charecteristics of the believers the very 1st charecteristics that Allah documented is the following-Those who offer their salah (prayers) with all SOLEMENITY/HUMBLE and full SUBMISSIVENESS. Than after giving 8 charecteristics of the believers the last charecteristics is And those who strictly guard their prayer (on time) Now the reality check is its NOT something amazing that we pray 5 times a day---but it is amazing if we pray 5 times in a day with humbleness/or paying our fullest attention in the prayer which means we shouldnt be thinking anything about this world or About our daily affairs with people DURING THE PRAYER! (which closely translated as khusuwaa-in arabic).. ..Now this is what i meant by Reality check (which is in the following), WE SHOULD FIND OUT WHICH LEVEL WE ARE IN, and we should strive for the best! Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) He is one of the greatest scholar in Islam said something very interesting--> And mankind, with regard to their performance of prayer are in five levels. -The first: The level of the one who is negligent and wrongs his soul. He is the one who falls SHORT in performing ablution properly, performing the prayer upon its time and within its specified limits, and fulfilling its essential pillars---It is a bad place to be in and it can even be punishiable-if Allah wills (according to some scholars) -The second: The one who guards his prayers upon their proper times and within their specified limits, fulfills their essential pillars and performs his/her ablution with care. However, his striving (in achieving the above) is WASTED due to whisperings in his prayer so he is taken away by thoughts and ideas. Meaning he is thinking about wordly affairs During the prayer instead of thinking about Allah--It is also a bad position to be in and can be punishable! -The third: The one who guards his prayers within their specified limits, fulfills their essential pillars and STRIVE WITH HUMSELF/HERSELF to REPEL the whisperings, thoughts and ideas. He is busy STRUGGLING against his enemy (Satan) so that he does not steal from the prayer. On account of this he is engaged in (both) prayer and Jihad (Fighting against His/her Nafs {his/her own self}---It is a pretty good positoin to be in although it is NOT the highest level and it is IN FACT VERY MUCH REWARDABLE! -The fourth is the one who guards his prayers within their specified limits, fullfills their essential pillars and strives with himself to repel the whispering thoughts and ideas, he is totally focusd in the prayer, he DOESNT TALK TO HIMSELF nor does he think anything about this duniya while in the prayer, he is in complete Kusuwa (submissiveness) AND THIS LEVEL IS BY THE WAY IS VERY HIGH LEVEL, AND HIGHLY REWARDABLE.. -The fifth, He prays in such a way that He keeps Allah in front of him/her. He places his heart and put it in a way as if he is SEEING Allah, and when he prays he is NOT in this duniya, meaning He is out of this world---in complete contemplation and thinking ONLY about Allah, and one of the famous example for this is the following, there was a companion of the prophet who had a problem in his legs, so doctors at that time suggested that his legs needs to be cut off..So they told him how u want us to cut your leg? He said, watch me closely when i pray, dont cut my leg when i am standing, notice me closely, when u see me prostrating u will find me out of this world with complete nearness with Allah, do watever at that time..The doctor did what his patient suggested, then guess wat? naturally he had a bleeding, but he didnt feel the pain in the LEAST, this is the level of number 5. _______________________________ Reference: The Path to Guidane: The text of the treatise of Ibn Al-Qayyim al-Jawziyah Chapter Eight
