NeSmith Race Control is on the air with live updates of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 Friday night Late Model action. Mother Nature, so far, has spoiled what was to be the busiest week of action in the nine year history of the series with 20 races in nine different states on the schedule. There were six NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events on the Friday night schedule, but rainouts have brought that total down to two at Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, TN and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS. Friday night rainouts have occurred at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and an $800-to-win race co-sanctioned by the Southeastern Crate Series at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. The Thursday night event scheduled for Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL was also rained out. There have been two NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 events that have been completed that took place on Monday night. Steven Brantley of Monroeville, AL drove the Airport Sport Sales Trak-Star to victory in the co-sanctioned race with the Southeastern Crate Series at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL on Monday night. Cody Smith of Holt, FL took the second spot, Ryan Crane of Panama City, FL finished third, Craig Turner of Flomaton, AL was fourth and the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS rounded out the top five. Ashley Newman of Ripley, TN was the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model winner on Monday night in Week 10 action at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN driving the Gregs Sawmill Special. Ricky Waggoner of Martin, TN was second, Joe Mike of Mayfield, KY took the third spot, Bronson Berry of Huntingdon, TN finished fourth and Michael Lee of Paris, TN rounded out the top five. There are still eight races on the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Saturday night Week 10 schedule, highlighted by a $1,000-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN and an $800-to-win race co-sanctioned by the Southeastern Crate Series at Southern Speedway in Milton, FL. Other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 events are scheduled for Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Three NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 10 Saturday night races have already been rained out at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA. Both Greenville Speedway and Jackson Motor Speedway have announced that they will be running Double Features next Saturday night on June 7 where drivers can compete for both Week 10 and Week 11 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Points.
