Near death is not the same as death. For a person to be able to - TopicsExpress

Near death is not the same as death. For a person to be able to survive death shows that they didnt truly die or experience brain death. Out-of-body experiences are also known to be common during interrupted sleep patterns that immediately precede sleeping or waking, as well as with sleep paralysis. This can actually be artificially triggered by stimulating the right temporoparietal junction in the brain. Even when the EEG is flat, there is still very little blood flow in the brain or glucose utilization. A flat EEG typically correlates with a very inactive brain, but that doesnt mean the brain isnt active at all in some areas. EEGs only measure the surface of brain function. There could very well be deeper processes going on that a doctor is unaware of at that present time. Considering the fact that neuroscientists don’t understand how the brain works completely, especially in relation to consciousness, I think its silly for people to claim that they *know* whats going on when people have near death experiences
