Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, took captive the children of God. - TopicsExpress

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, took captive the children of God. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah amoung them. Of ALL the children of God only these four stood and refused to worship anything other than God the Father, and were protected from the pegan Babyloinans. The witnesses there saw the FAITH these had and their LOYALITY to God, also satan was there, and saw them, and also saw the prophecies. Now satan is the enemy of God, and ALL that are HIS, and hates Gods LAW, so being there and seeing this take place with cunning and persistance took advantage and changed Gods times and laws, satan knew death would not sway true children of God, so he went to work to set in motion the very things needed to DECIEVE them. John in Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world (whole not a part); Rev. 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all (not some or part, ALL) the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? This scripture bothered me for awhile, I for one would not do this, not even being forced to. There are a lot of people who would not do this, satan knowing this used the pegan Romans to invent a solar calendar with seven days (before this they had an eight day week with saturns day as the first day, check history). Constintine, made it against the law to use the lunar solar calendar to determine the Sabbath, and issued a death decree to anyone who would use it. God knowing the end from the begining, made the fourth commandment say, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY. Whereas He could have just said Thou shalt keep the Sabbath day holy. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. AMEN The Julian calendar, like the calendar of the Republic before it, originally had an eight-day cycle. Every eighth day was a nundinæ, or market day. The calendars were not constructed in grids as are modern calendars, but the dates were listed in columns. For example, January started with day “A” and would proceed on through the eight days of the week, ending at day “H”. Unlike the Hebrew calendar, the Roman calendar had a continuous weekly cycle. Because January ended on day “E”, February began on day “F”. Likewise, February ending on day “A” started March off on day “B”. Because the entire world has used the Gregorian calendar for years, it is a frequently overlooked fact that in former times, not only did various countries use differing calendars, but there were also regional differences within individual countries. Although the seven-day planetary week became popularized in Rome with the rise of the cult of Mithras, it did not become official until Constantine standardized the week at the Council of Nicæa. When the Julian calendar was made the ecclesiastical calendar of the Church at the Council of Nicæa, the Church deliberately rejected Biblical calendation and instead adopted pagan calendation. Referring to the differing systems of calendation used for determining the Biblical Passover versus the pagan substitute of Easter, Clavius states: “The Catholic Church has never used that [Jewish] rite of celebrating the Passover, but always in its celebration has observed the motion of the moon and sun, and it was thus sanctified by the most ancient and most holy Pontiffs of Rome, but also confirmed by the first Council of Nicæa.” The “Pontiffs” he is referring to are the ancient priests of Roman paganism. The Council of Nicæa (A.D. 321-324) outlawed the Biblical luni-solar calendar for ecclesiastical use, and supplanted the Julian calendar in its place, commanding that people everywhere “venerate” the day of the Sun. While many Christians clung to keeping the original Sabbath by the luni-solar calendar, some began to compromise. The rabbinical Jews, kept the seventh day of the Julian calendar: Saturday. Still others kept Saturday as well as Sunday. Ps 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons (OT:4150): the sun knoweth his going down. KJV OT:4150 mowed` (mo-ade); or moed` (mo-ade); or (feminine) mow`adah from OT:3259 properly, an appointment, i.e. a fixed time or season; (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand): KJV - appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast, (appointed, due) season, solemn (-ity), synogogue, (set) time (appointed). OT:3259 ya`ad (yaw-ad); a primitive root; to fix upon (by agreement or appointment); by implication, to meet (at a stated time), to summon (to trial), to direct (in a certain quarter or position), to engage (for marriage): -agree, make an) appoint (-ment, a time), assemble (selves), betroth, gather (selves, together), meet (together), set (a time). Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons(OT:4150), and for days, and years: KJV Roman Catholic scholar Patrick Madrid stated that the current Saturday is not the original Biblical Sabbath but that the change made by the Catholic Church was actually one of calendation. The thing that we should remember, is that our calendar that we follow, including Seventh-day Adventists, is not only a calendar that was devised by the Catholic Church, but also it is a calendar thats based upon the solar year, not the lunar year. And the Jewish calendar that was observed in the time of Christ was a lunar calendar.
