Need Partner With $85,000 for New Film Project Defective Science Fiction Feature Film The Story Defective is a science-fiction/action film that provides pulse-pounding excitement within a thought-provoking world of state-endorsed violence. In the near future, one U.S. state controls crime through hundreds of uniformed, anonymous Enforcers who investigate, judge, and sentence ‘defective’ citizens for the smallest crimes. For severe crimes, the Enforcers perform immediate public executions. Rhett Murphy, a disillusioned middle-aged man, protects a secret that would expose him as ‘defective.’ When he is evicted from his apartment for failure to pay rent, he decides to flee across state borders and escape the tyranny. After a surprise visit from Jean, his estranged daughter, Rhett is forced to flee with a reluctant Jean in tow. With Enforcers in close pursuit, Rhett and Jean attract the attention and support of an underground network of revolutionaries, working covertly to tear down the militant government before it can spread through the nation Can Rhett and Jean survive long enough to escape the menacing Enforcers or will they risk their lives to join the resistance and save millions of people? This strategically conceived near-future sci-fi tale has been designed to be successfully executed on a micro-budget of $125,000. Through the experience, connections and resources of the production team, we will be able to provide on-screen production value that far exceeds the actual budget of the film. TOTAL BUDGET: $ 125,000 RAISED TO DATE: $ 40,000 LEFT TO RAISE: $ 85,000 The entire budget of this film will be raised through third-party investment with no assistance from Telefilm Canada or any other Canadian financing agency. Possibility Films has partnered with Crafthaus in order complete the financing of the production and make Defective a reality. Crafthaus currently has a slate of six feature film projects at various stages of development. The company’s approach is to find and develop the careers of interesting writers and directors, building their careers by financing and producing the best of their work. Our strategy is to create genre films starting at budget levels of $125,000 to $270,000 and, with each successfully completed and sold film, incrementally increase the budgets. Defective is the first of three potential projects with writer-director Reese Eveneshen (Writer and Director, Dead Genesis, Ravenbanner Distribution) and these projects would expand our slate of projects to nine feature films over the next 3-5 years. Sales projections for this modestly budgeted production are between $350,000 (low-end) and $750,000 (high-end) within the first 24-months of completion. If the sales agent for film can reach 70% of its low-end sales, our investors would see an ROI of 30%.
