Need advice, PLEASE: I hired a girl to stay at my home and care for my dogs while away for 8 days. The dogs were to be put out in a pen when she wasnt here, allowed to roam the yard when she was, and to sleep inside at night. The puppy was supposed to be in a crate IF in the house unattended. We checked in by text every 2 days. Always told everything was just fine. It wasnt. Came home to 2 pair of work shoes, 1 pair of Uggs, 1scarf, and 1 couch chewed up and in need of repair or replacement. And a note telling me that there was pee and poop daily in cellar and living room. 😳 The bill had a charge for another person to stop in and let the dogs out during the day. Huh?? They were supposed to be out all day. Apparently she misunderstood and didnt use the pen. She crated the puppy all day when at work to minimize the chewing damage and kept the other dogs stay inside too. Since she works 2 jobs she (smartly) hired someone to help her during the day to let them out to minimize the pee/poop issue. Ok- but the dogs were supposed to be in their outside sheltered pen during the day. Should I pay that extra bill?? And, they werent supposed to be left alone in the house. In all fairness, she tried to remedy the cleanliness situation by steam cleaning the carpet (she did not charge me for that). I have to replace/repair the damage done when she left the puppy loose in the house. Do I pay her the full $450 she is asking for? Im very confused and saddened by this... HELP!!! I want to be fair.
