Need help from plant growing friends -- I got this plant as a gift a few years ago, I dont remember what is called. I think it came from Hawaii. For a few years it just looked like a small stick in the ground with a few small leaves at the end. It was maybe 18 inches tall and leaves not much bigger than my thumb. I moved it and put it in a bigger pot and --oh gave it some fertilizer of all things. Now it looks like its trying to run away. The thing wont stand up straight. I repotted it to make it more vertical but down it comes. Im wondering if I cut it off near the ground if it will re-sprout from the stump. Any ideas or if you can identify this thing will help. Now the trunk is over 4 ft and the leaves are huge .
