Need help/suggestions. Peanut is one big matt. And Peanut really hates to be brushed. Like he becomes a nasty cat. With him being sick I havent been messing with him too much, letting him heal etc, but the matts only got worse. I tried brushing him. I got a comb that actually is working but since he is such a brat (and lets face it, twice a day I am shoving a syringe down his throat with meds- he is not really happy with me, period) I only got a bit done before he took a couple of swipes at me. I would prefer not to shave him, but I am worried that is the only way. Peanut is not your average size cat. Peanut is a main coon, and is thin due to being sick, only 16 lbs but he is LONG- like three feet worth of cat. Seriously- his tail comes up to my hip when he is walking along side of me. So he really takes two to groom him. One to hold him firmly and one to hold his paws with one hand and brush with the other. (today I tried just letting him lay on the couch but that didnt go to well) Any suggestions on how to do this without stressing him too much. And I do not want to take him to a groomer since his immune system is compromised right now. HELP!
