Need to get this out of my system... John Oliver nails it tbh. Football isnt my religion, its a passion. But I do hate to see my passion being controlled by money and even being used to blackmail governments.. To sum up some disturbing events: - Barcelona and Real Madrid but also clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal, have a debt of amounts near the 500 million euros. - Clubs that arent using financial fair play(youth player trades&financial errors) are only getting fined a bit and still can play in international tournaments. - World championships seem to be getting sold to the highest bidding potential hosts. - The South African and Brazilian economies arent being helped by the gigantic reserves the FIFA has stowed away, a tournament host should have its infrastructure, health and social circumstances being improved! - Sepp Blatter still wants to remain on his throne, and dont be fooled, its all politics. Michael van Praag isnt a saviour for saying what he did. Its all politics that resemble a game of thrones. - Even the game FIFA by Electronic Arts is cheating its way to succes. Stealing programmers from rivals and agressively holding back licenses so other football games cant have all the official names and emblems. All by the capitalism rulebook though. Its all about football, shame there is so much money involved. Like John Oliver also states, I cant wait for the tournament to begin tonight! When the kick off hits, I will be drooling of happiness.
