Needing some advice for my girl - Shes 2 1/2 years. We discovered what we think is an allergy to latex a couple of months ago after a bandaid caused her to have huge blisters after it was removed. A few weeks ago she developed a dime sized rash on her back at her diaper line. We use cloth at home, but disposables out. We had also started a new brand that was a pull-up a couple of weeks prior. She had her regular checkup around this time and I learned that sposies can have latex. So, we switched to all cloth all the time. The rash went away for about week but has since come back and is now in about an inch strip all across her lower back. She scratches at it a lot. We had just been putting hydrocortisone cream on it, but talked to the nurse at her drs today who recommended Benadryl 4 times/day until we get into her first appointment with the allergist in two weeks. We also think she has an allergy to almonds and apples. They did the allergy blood test at her regular dr - but it only tests for the most common childhood allergies, and none of the things we suspect were tested for. So, well see the allergist in a couple of week, but in the meantime - shes got this horrible rash on her back and I hate the thought of giving her so much Benadryl.
