Needless to say, the gods have found a couple of new ways to antagonise the Pillanses. First, they arranged matters so that all the buses to Istanbul were full, except the last, the 6pm service, due in around midnight. Second, they so befuddled Mrs P that be that she lost a day in her schedule, leaving us with no accommodation booked for our first night in Istanbul. The last was easily fixed but we are left with the prospect of a long day in Canakkale doing very little but dodging heavenly thunderbolts while waiting to get on our crowded chariot. Ah me, I wonder what its like to be normal and not have to put up with all this.
