NegOcc sets forum on environmental governance NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Sept. 1 (PIA6) - - Environmentalist and lawyer Antonio A. Oposa Jr. will have an audience of environmental warriors and advocates at the 47th Center for Environmental Initiatives (CEI) where he will talk on Environmental Governance. The Provincial Government through the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) will hold its CEI forum on September 3, 2014, 1PM at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol Building, Bacolod City. Oposa is an environmental law and policy consultant, expert in environmental policy and law, governance and litigation. He is known as an effective and respected activist for forest and marine protected areas and a true warrior for the environment. His legal work includes establishing the right to sue on behalf of future generations to stop environmental damage today, and for his work to protect the forests and marine environments in the country. Oposa is the President of The Law of Nature Foundation, one of Asias leading voices in the global arena of environmental law. CEI is a venue for a forum of discussion on environmental programs, concerns and activities by the province-wide body composed of Local government units, National government agencies and multi-sectoral groups from the NGOs and People’s Organizations, academe and media.
