Negative Effects of Social Networking on Marriages. All marriages will usually end up traveling some rough spots on a couples journey together. For the most part, no marriage is perfect, as people generally are fallible as human beings, and it is not uncommon for all marriage to suffer a level of conflict at some point. Sometimes the conflict is minor but other times it might be more serious. While marriage has always required hard work and commitment, todays marriages have the unique burden of technology. Modern culture is a highly in tune with technology and as a result many marriages are dealing with issues theyve never had to before and unfortunately end up suffering negative effects. Social networking has largely played a role in both problems and demises of many marriages. This is not to say social networking has necessarily caused marital distress because ultimately individuals are behind the choices they make and do have decision making controls; however social networking does lend credence to the theory that these websites are a very real problem in many of todays marriages.
