Negotiations on gas transport commences • Negotiations on whether Ghana will construct an independent pipeline to transport gas to Tema or tie the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCO) and that of Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) to enable a reverse flow of gas from Aboadze to Tema have commenced. • According to the Energy Ministry this is to allow for the excess gas that would be produced by Ghana Gas to be sent to the Tema enclave to be used to power plants of Volta River Authority (VRA) as well as the privately-ownedSunon Asogli thermal plant and the Cenit thermal plant. • Currently the Sunon Asogli thermal plant and the Cenit thermal plant receive their gas from the West African Gas Pipeline from Nigeria.
