Nehemiah went to RESTORE the torn down places of Jerusalem, - TopicsExpress

Nehemiah went to RESTORE the torn down places of Jerusalem, Israel. He had a PUSH in his heart. You know how you feel about something. And, when you have strong feelings of love for the work of God, dont allow someone to OVERRIDE the voice by influencing you to be ABSENT from where you can have your greatest effect and victory. Nehemiah noted that the TEMPLE OF GOD was neglected and left in disarray. He noticed that the people were not spiritual; that heathens had taken over the rooms of Gods temple and that the Holy vessels were displaced and out of place. His conclusion: ABSENT Levites who did the work for the House of God. Why were they ABSENT? Each man had gone into the fields to work so that they could take care of their families. WHY? Because the people of God were ABSENT from paying their tithes and offerings. Therefore, offerings were NOT offered to God. THE EFFECT: the whole nation was losing. Neh 13:10 I also discovered that the Levites had not been given their prescribed portions of food, so they and the singers who were to conduct the worship services had all returned to work their fields. 11 I immediately confronted the leaders and demanded, Why has the Temple of God been neglected? Then I called all the Levites back again and restored them to their proper duties. 12 And once more all the people of Judah began bringing their tithes of grain, new wine, and olive oil to the Temple storerooms.13 I assigned supervisors for the storerooms: Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah, one of the Levites. And I appointed Hanan son of Zaccur and grandson of Mattaniah as their assistant. These men had an excellent reputation, and it was their job to make honest distributions to their fellow Levites. 14 Remember this good deed, O my God, and do not forget all that I have faithfully done for the Temple of my God and its services. (Holy Bible, New Living Translation) Neh 13:10 And then I learned that the Levites hadnt been given their regular food allotments. So the Levites and singers who led the services of worship had all left and gone back to their farms. 11 I called the officials on the carpet, Why has The Temple of God been abandoned? I got everyone back again and put them back on their jobs 12 so that all Judah was again bringing in the tithe of grain, wine, and oil to the storerooms.
