Neighborhoods are on my mind, Facebook. Tonight I watched with pride as Lindsey Ann Cox presided over her first meeting of Salemtown Neighborhood Nashvilles neighborhood association meeting (including calling an audible, as Morgan Park Community Center was apparently closed for floor repairs). It was a challenging meeting, as two Specific Plan projects (by two separate developers) were presented to the neighborhood, which is adjusting to development demand. We reviewed two more SPs at the close of 2014. As I move into my emeritus role with SNNA, Im honored to have been invited by John Stern to join the Executive Board of Directors of the Nashville Neighborhood Alliance. I actually had to depart their meeting early tonight in order to make the Salemtown meeting, but Im excited about the Feb 28 Nashville Neighborhoods Leadership Summit that is being planned. We met at the offshoot Neighborhoods Resource Center, where Im honored to have been invited to join their Advisory Council. Well be helping take a hard look at creating a sustainable future for this invaluable resource to Nashville.
