Neighboring Rome/Floyd County Fire Dept. battled a chemical fire today which caused many nearby residents to be evacuated. This was similar to the fire a few years ago at a Battery Recycling business in Cartersville. There is a new county wide tool to notify residents of such evacuations and other disaster situations.
