Neighbourhood Leadership Institute 2015 The Neighbourhood Leadership Institute (NLI) is a Hamilton Community Foundation (HCF) funded course providing leadership skills training for any Hub residents from the 11 priority neighbourhoods. The 10-week course will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at rotating Hub locations. The start date is Feb 28th and participants will meet for four consecutive weeks, and then meet every other week for the remaining six weeks, ending in May. There is a project component to the course where participants partner-up (can be across Hub lines) and choose a project that can be put into action in their neighbourhoods. Participants can also apply for a small grant from the HCF to launch their project plans. During the 10-week course, local experts will provide instruction on such topics as project management, communication, grant writing, public speaking, conflict resolution, self-advocacy, leading teams, marketing, etc. The course work will always be related back to the chosen projects.
