Neither UT nor Divisional Status, only JKL as an Election Agenda in Ladakh by BJP. BJP should articulate the regional interests of Ladakh as the most priority than the other issues in this assembly election. It should also explain to the people of Ladakh why UT is not an election issue like the Lok Sabha election and what is the reason of sidelining UT issue. Instead of UT, now they are demanding for the change of JK state name as JKL that is somehow good representing Ladakh in the name of state. If they are for the development of Ladakh, by changing only name is not going to solve the underdevelopment and problems of Ladakh, they have to support for the divisional status of Ladakh (if not UT) that is the only panacea to the problems of Ladakh which will make the region of Ladakh as equal representation in terms of development with other regional division of Jammu and Srinagar. Suppose, if DS is there Ladakh would have all the departments and institutions that existed in the Kashmir and Jammu. Ladakh might have its own Ladakh middle college, state university, and other departments which will be going to generate employment to the people of ladakh. Now they have to clear to the people of Ladakh that as they rejected the divisional status to Ladakh when the legislative council passed resolution in this regard. But what I find is that if UT is not an issue in this election then it is better to have divisional status as election issue with change of name of J&K as JKL. So, they have to clear and support their stand on divisional status otherwise by changing name of state would be another symbolic representation than nothing else. It might be puzzling to the people of Ladakh that BJP is neither supporting UT nor divisional status than there is nothing difference between congress and NC who are always against the regional interests of Ladakh and have been focussed on constituency interests and polarising people on different interests within the region of Ladakh. So BJP has to be different in this election by advocating the regional interests of ladakh as priority. In nutshell, the argument is that only changing of name is not sufficient and if advocating inclusion of name of Ladakh means definitely it talks for the integrated jk, so it is better to have divisional status to the people of Ladakh than nothing else at least for the development of Ladakh.
