Nepal National Senior mens team skipper Sagar Thapa, Nepal National Womens Team Skipper Chandra Bhandari, Nepal National U-16 Team Bimal Gharti Magar, Nepal U-16 Coach Bal Gopal Maharjan andFIFA referee Laba Khatri have submitted memorandums to Nepal Sports Council (NSC) and Youth & Sports Ministry seekingfair investigation on Alleged Corruption Scandal at ANFA without banning any office bearers.Nepal National Team coach Jack Stefanowski and National team players were present while handing over the letter at NSCs office where national team players organized a press meet. They have appealed NSC and Youth & Sports Ministry to take necessary steps not to ban ANFAs office bearers and even requested PAC to withdraw the decisions citing that FIFA may ban ANFA if they are banned. They also mentioned that they would have a dim future if PAC decisions were implemented. Two weeks before, Public Accounts Committee meeting chaired by Maoist leader Janardhan Sharma decided tosuspend ANFAs office bearers for two monthsaccusing ANFA President of misusing Rs.581.71 million and to prevent from destroying evidences against him during the investigation. They stated in the memorandum, We; players, coaches and referees; are very worried about the news related to ANFA. We have no issues if guilty is punished after investigating at ANFA. But the way ANFA is brought into controversy has put Nepalese football in chaotic situation. The situation will result our future in dark as clubs are not excited to sign players, coaches can train players and referees willalso have to stay away from football.Nobody is above the law and its obvious to investigate alleged corruption charges of ANFA by concerned authorities. But a parliamentarian of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) told media different things than what was decided by PACs meeting. His statement created a state of chaos among players, coaches, sponsors and Nepalese football fans. This kind of wrong statement may tarnish the image of honourable PAC.ANFA is developing professionalism in Nepalese football and players. It is constructing physical infrastructures and has been providing employment to the players who dont have other skills. We aregetting motorcycle, car, apartments and even cash prizes which has motivated us and also attracted youth players.ANFA is developing professionalism in Nepalese football and players. It is constructing physical infrastructures and has been providing employment to the players who dont have other skills. We aregetting motorcycle, car, apartments and even cash prizes which has motivated us and also attracted youth players.ANFAs responsible office bearers are banned recently by honorable PAC. If the decision will be implemented, this will meet FIFA statute 13 & 17 as a result of which FIFA will ban ANFA from International football. The first ever home and away National league will be affected if ANFA will face ban resulting migration of players and players will not be available forclubs to sign them.Hence, to prevent from destroying the future of Nepalese football, we would like to request you to probe and punish the gulity without making decisions that can ban ANFA from International football. This will not only affect Nepalese football but will affect entire nepalese sports. We would also like to request PAC to rethink about the decision. [Via GoalNepal]
