...Nepal tour of Sri Lanka 2014 November... ..................................................................... 1st match 9th to 11th November 2014 Kurunegala district combined XI vs Nepal 3-day(first class) at welagedara international cricket stadium ,kurunegala After won the toss Nepal invite Kurunegala district combined XI to bat first on Sri Lankas one of best batting turf in welagedara and they use that advantage successfully with scoring 347 comfortable total for the board in their 1st innings include Ex-U19 Sri Lanka player Minod bhanukas fast century and two great innings from opener Leo fransisco & first class level talented batsmen Gayan maneeshan. Minod scored 113 runs from 133 balls include 9 fours and 4 sixes with 84.96 strike rate. Leo got 51 runs from 115 deliverys & Maneeshan got 60 from 95 balls. as the best bowling figure for Nepal facer Sompal kami took 5 wickets haul for 64 runs in his 16.3 overs spell include two maidens with 3.88 economy rate. meanwhile Bhuvan karki took 2 for 72 and Sagar pun took 2 for 76. Karn KC took 1 for 63 as most expensive spell of the side. in Nepal 1st innings they all out in just 187 runs ,Sompal kami support 49 runs with the bat to manage it. but Kurunegala district combined XI takes huge 240 runs lead for the 1st innings and they start their 2nd innings with that huge 240 runs, but they got this time in serious trouble with Nepal superstar face attack front with Sompal kami,Kami took another 3 wickets in this innings and Kurunegala district combined XI declared their 2nd innings as 238/8 on the board. Kurunegala district combined XI batted very poorly in the 2nd innings but they are well ahead from Nepal with that 1st innings saving 240 runs and they put 299 runs on the board as the target for Nepal in the 3rd and last day of the game, once again Nepal got serious struggle with their opening pair and starts fallen of the innings. Sagar pun scored fighting 47 runs and Sompal kami helps again with the bat 17 runs, Pulami also trying to push their total to up and to tha victory but it hasnt work. final session of the day (after the tea break) match was played under few rainy clouds and fast wind from west to east end. but the game was continue under the well enough light for the game play. finally Nepal all out in 211 runs and it register 87 runs victory for Kurunegala district combined XI. Nepal lost their first ever long format game by 87 runs,Nepal have to improve more things on this format but their bowling attack was so fine i guess,also guess both Nepal and Kurunegala district combined XI played really good cricket. Nepal facer Sompal kami named as player of the match for his team saving innings (49 1st innings,17 2nd innings) and (five wickets in 1st innings ,three wickets in 2nd innings) his brilliant bowling skills. Kurunegala district combined XI coach Sir.Ajith ekanayake guide his team with many young cricketers to victory over Nepal national cricket team,i guess this is great achievement of his life and he is the men to hold Sri Lankas most domestic (1st class) wickets holder.
