Networking Part Four – The Global Network As we wind up - TopicsExpress

Networking Part Four – The Global Network As we wind up talking about networking, it is important to include the Global network. In today’s world of internet access everywhere, a smart phone in every hand – you can connect with someone half way ‘round the world easier than in your own backyard! And the most important aspect of the global connection is simply sharing for the benefit of all. In the short time the CCC has been around, we’ve been delighted to make friends not only across our own country, but in different countries. We’ve featured several of them in previous posts – • Lenore in Florida let us follow her through her introduction to TNR :) We loved talking with her via email, seeing the pictures, hearing the follow up stories. How very special to be part of this beginning experience – and to hear from her later as she began another site. From Florida to Washington – distance was not a problem. • Jeanne in North Carolina was also a newbie to TNR - in fact, she is a dog person, and became very worried when she realized a mama cat had had babies in her back yard! She didn’t want the dogs to get them, but what to do? She just happened to have this occur when we did a series of postings on how to trap a mom using the babies as bait… from total newbie to mom and babies confined in a “nursery” suite in 2 days; confinement until the babies were old enough to wean; mom TNR’d and babies socialized and adopted out – this was an extremely satisfying long distance connection! • Valerie in Central BC is a global connection of a different kind. She and her husband have the Lakes Animal Friendship Society, and do NUMEROUS projects to help the animals, focusing on educating the community – especially the children – about the importance of animal care, compassion, and bite safety. Valerie contacted us when they were awarded a $40,000 PetSmart Charities grant to do a massive TNR project – we exchanged ideas and have maintained contact, learning from each other and growing – together! lakesanimalfriendship.ca We’ve had contact with people as far away as Romania, and it is so exciting to see how TNR is becoming the WORLD norm! Does this mean it’s “there”, that all is well all over? No, not yet – but this connection we all have, right at our fingertips, is the means to making sure the TNR movement DOES become the standard everywhere. How you respond to people – whether they are in your backyard or clear across the world – truly can make a difference. Please – help us all. Educate yourself, educate others – share the knowledge, and be that support the other is seeking to the best of your ability. In the end, it is our caring that will win the day. The CCC thanks YOU for caring!
