Neurosurgeon and Fox News contributor Dr. Ben Carson claims in his new book One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future that the White House wanted him to apologize to President Obama for challenging him during his famous National Prayer Breakfast Speech in 2013. So much for “tolerant” liberals, right? The Daily Caller was able to obtain an advance copy of Dr. Carson’s book, and relayed what the doctor wrote: “He did not appear to be hostile or angry, but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of the program, I received a call from some of the prayer breakfast organizers saying that the White House was upset and requesting that I call the president and apologize for offending him. I said that I did not think that he was offended and that I didn’t think that such a call was warranted.” After his speech, Carson was urged by many conservatives to take a more prominent role in the nation’s politics. The pediatric neurosurgeon is now a contributor to Fox News and he has a swelling of support for a presidential bid in 2016. Of course, shortly following his challenge of the president, he received his first audit from the IRS.
