Never Far Apart Char of campfire remains despite distance of time and of space. Here in this new autumn the mighty weight of love hangs still around each camper’s neck. Community lacing through leather, wooden beads tight hold on loyalty, to the long last goodbye. Chew and chew and remember the s’mores, remember the road that always leads back, dear Red Hill Road, to the barn, and to Camp Hawkeye, where memory rests, bundled up for the winter, waiting on summer warm.
