Never a day goes by that I dont think about my son, Alan who is - TopicsExpress

Never a day goes by that I dont think about my son, Alan who is flying missions in Afghanistan while we are asleep in our beds, in relative peace and security. I think about missing him at Thanksgiving this year, as well as the upcoming Christmas season. I think back to a time when it was just me and him against the world, when I was hurt and suddenly raising him on my own, and the strength and empowerment he gave me to suck it up and turn my life around. I think about him helping me fix my motorcycle when he was just two-years-old so we could go car shopping, and how cute he looked in that big orange metallic helmet! What a chick magnet he was when I was in college, and how adorable he was in his little suit when he was ring bearer for my second marriage! Now that hes all grown up, I think about all of his accomplishments; as a mechanic, a firefighter, a medic, a Chinook helicopter repairer and a soldier. But most of all, I think about how damn proud and happy I am to have him as a son. Wont you join me for a moment and think about my son, Alan and all of our young men and women overseas who are serving our country during this holiday season, as well as their families, friends and loved ones. If you pray, pray for them. If you dont, send positive thoughts to them. If you drink, raise your glass to them. If you are an American, be proud of them!
