Never ever underestimate the value of a simple conversation. I had arrived late for my flight back home so had to be escorted by an Airport staff member. As we made our way to the plane he began asking me about the cricket in Australia, to which I knew nothing of lol. Eager to find out if this man was Muslim, I subtly asked him if he knew if it was okay to pray on the plane. He said that he wasnt sure and would have to ask. He then turned to me and said something really powerful. You know brother, yesterday was the first time I prayed in two years… I just had a tumour removed and realised I might not have a second chance at life. So I just stopped everything and prayed to Allah. I stood there astonished and just said Alhamdulilah… Its amazing how many hidden stories are out there of our fellow Muslims struggling, yet we dont know at all. Seriously the next time we bump into a Muslim just ask them how they are, even if its only a brief encounter. Youd be surprised.
