Neville Longbottom. The one person who will always be most - TopicsExpress

Neville Longbottom. The one person who will always be most inspirational to me. The one who ended up fighting not because everybody urged him to fight or because he was destined to but because he realized he must do it as his moral responsibility. Studying hard to make a niche place for himself, to be a part of the general popular group, constantly willing to learn and improve, being ridiculed for all the love his only living family member gave him, being patronized by everyone and being constantly reminded that his parents died, not as the leaders of the great war, but as soldiers, their death discussed more for the torture they went through than for the cause they stood for. From being the awkward shy ridiculed boy to having the courage to stand up and volunteer, to go ahead and fight when the time came and fight from the front lines. His is the story that truly defines the series for me. Him, Dobby, Lupin, Tonks all who were relegated and at many times just worked as a support group. Its about a kid who goes on to face one of the greatest wizards of all time, led astray by the way society treated him, and about the various others, who took it upon themselves to fight his war and their battles through him. I leave with this. P.S. I envy him because I really loved Luna Lovegood. Through the many progressions of the book my admiration for the character has changed from a patronizing position to one of respect and love. They are just perfect. Most perfect in the whole series :)
