New APO Office Bearers take charge The Office of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) was taken charge of by a new team, on the 17th of December 2014, at APO Hall, Kohima. The team of 14 shall hold office for a tenure of three years. The formal programme was attended by Angami Legislators, Public Leaders from the four Angami Regions and the Villages, AWO, AYO, ASA and AGOK. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kiyaneilie Peseyie said that as a politician, the strength of APO is their strength. He expressed that inspite of the great advancements by the Angamis there is still great avenues for attainments especially in ventures outside the State. The Parliamentary Secy, Vikho-o Yhoshü, added that the APO should include the Legislators into its Elders Forum, to enable them to be aware of the public opinion on issues of public concerns. The Parliamentary Secy, Zhaleo Rio, recounted that the Angamis were pioneers in Naga Politics, Education, Business, Administration and Resource-development. But lamented, that today the Angamis have fallen into slumber and complacence and is losing its lead role. He admonished the Angami tendency of petty courtesy talks but advocated for serious issue based discussions on programmes and developmental projects. He said that APO should be social development conscious despite being a non-Political Organisation. He urged APO to evolve its political policy. The Parliamentary Secy, Er. Kropol Vitsu pointed out the Angami psyche and the flawed attitude, of not willing to even venture to Dimapur area for settlement. He said that any new venture is tough but the future generation will have no future, if we shy away from hardships today. The MLA, Neiphrezo also shared deep concern over the two most worrying trends of te time viz un-employment and un-productivity. He felt that issues must be taken up and said that this is the right time since all the Angami Legislators are in a single party along with the MP to Lok Sabha. The Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) President, Rokoheü Roselin, expressed that APO would achieve much more, if the services of the leaders are acknowledged and are made to feel satisfaction for their dedications in their sacrifice for the community. The Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho (AGOK) President, Ketoho Luho, felt that the Angami motto of Ketouca should be replaced by Kethoca - Equal Judgement by Truth Judgement. He asserted that Angamis are respected because of their strong sense of right and wrong. The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) President, Medo Yhokha, assured the ever readiness of AYO for any action at the behest of APO and solicited prompt and decisive directions by APO. The Angami Sports Association (ASA) President, Dr. Joseph Neisievilie, also assured that ASA is ever ready to participate whenever an action plan is laid by APO. The out-going APO President, Keneingunyü A. Sekhose, in his welcome address and his parting speech, thanked everyone for their supports especially towards the completion of APO building in Kohima. He also informed that a similar building at Dimapur is being left to the successors to pursue for its materialization. He expressed optimism for a resurgence of the Angami tribe in the Naga Society. The in-coming APO President, Dr. Vilhousa Seleyi (Rtd. Jt. Director, Vety & Animal Husbandry), thanked the public for reposing confidence on the members of the new team. He stated that the Angami tribe is specially blessed by God, to be inhabiting the four regions with two special valley plains of the high Dzükou valley and the low Dimapur valley, with Kohima placed midway. He anticipated APO would soon formulate policies for these precious lands. He ardently implored the guidance and will of the Almighty God as invoked by the Rev. Fr.
