New America Media is dedicated to building a more inclusive public forum by raising the visibility of ethnic media and their audiences. Since its founding in 1969 as Pacific News Service (PNS), NAM has continued to grow as a communications hub for journalists, scholars, artists, filmmakers, and young people dedicated to bringing the seldom heard, often most misunderstood or ignored voices and ideas into the public forum.
