New Blog post! Train harder, but train smarter Last week I spoke to you about making your repetitions count in the gym and worrying less about the number of reps that you bust out. We explored your mind being a powerful tool in this, whereby it can either hinder you if you have a specific number of reps in mind or help you if you train to utter failure and block out the notion of a set number you’re aiming for. Taking the number of repetitions out of the equation is a great way to stimulate new muscle growth, but as I mentioned it can be taxing on your body (and mind) and shouldn’t be adopted for weeks on end. Saying that, it seems to me that the intense training programs available today are in fact the ones that yield the best results. So far this year I’ve followed the Y3T training principles (a heavy week, medium week and then a light week repeated for a total of 12 weeks) and most recently incorporated some German Volume Training (10 sets of 10 reps per body part).
