New Brunswick ** Freezing Rain Warnings in effect ** Its a clear morning around the province although Saint John is reporting an occasional cloud. The coldest location is Edmundston where the thermometer reads -26°C. It is -14°C on Grand Manan Island, making it the hot spot. There are northwest winds at 10 to 15 km/h, higher in coastal areas where gusts of 30 to 55 km/h are being recorded. With the province under influence of a high pressure system today, we can expect sunshine with cloud developing as the day goes on. By evening we should see partly cloudy skies with flurries beginning in the west. Overnight will bring more cloud and snow. Accumulations by morning are forecast to be 2 to 5 cms. Temperatures in the afternoon will be -14°C to -11°C in the south and -17°C to -14°C in the north. Wind chill will make it feel up to 10°C colder. The west to northwest winds are expect to be 10 to 15 km/h with gusts of 30 to 35 km/h possible. The winds will gradually shift around becoming east to southeast at 10 to 15 km/h by the overnight hours. Campobello Island has a few clouds and a temperature of -15°C. The northwest wind is light at 10 km/h and relative humidity is 60%. Barometric pressure is trending upward at 1037 hPa. On Campobello this afternoon look for a mainly sunny sky and a high of -10°C but feel like -15°C. It will be a sunglasses and many-layers-of-clothing day across the province. Stay warm and have a great day. #BackyardWeather (Stephen)
