New Council of ICSI has been formed and we have already started expectation that within a very short period of time they will do any miracle and will resolve all the pending issues related to the profession and the profession will reach a new height. But please think whether are we really capable enough to take the all opportunity provided to the profession by our Statute?. I have some different views. It is often we see that most of the members those are in employment always try to convince( read force ) the Practicing Company Secretaries to take up the assignment at an abnormal low fees. So he can prove before his management that how much competent he is. Similarly many of Practicing members are ready to take up the assignments at an abnormal lower fees just to increase their volume of work. I know personally one or two past council member who has taken up the assignment of secretarial audit of a large listed company at Rs.25000/- per annum, whereas the statutory audit fees for that company is 20 lac plus. The most funny part is that any member of both the above category whenever get an opportunity to speak at any seminar of ICSI then they talk big about the future growth of the profession. Really pathetic.
