New Employment Opportunity: Site Manager Department: Operations Reports to: General Manager - MFM Location: MFM – Kearl Lake – Ft Mc Murray Purpose & Key Accountabilities Key member of the management team, working closely with site client(s). Is able to coordinate the contract activities for field site. Enforce best practices and standards for operations through the utilization of productivity, quality, and process improvements for the contract activities. Responsible for coordinating contract resources, such as equipment and personnel. Works closely with General Manager regarding managing costs to be maintained at approved budget levels. Duties & Responsibilities • Maximize site production while minimizing operating costs • Develop with Senior Management a Site Plan and assure the following is incorporated into the plan and assure that the marketing activities are within the scope , incorporating the following points: a) Service categories offered are reviewed for profitability & margins b) Clear standards of performance for each labour market and equipment opportunity are set c) Standards are set for cost of labor and equipment for profitable performance of each service/operational category d) Responsible to be a key resource in negotiating major contracts and completing agreements with contractors on the site * Motivate, develop, and direct employees as they work, identifying the best people for the job * Work with Senior Management to determine staffing requirements, oversee employee processes, such as employee orientation, HSE and new hire processes * Builds long-term relationships with the site office personnel as well as other managers * Manages, maintains and tracks the core metrics necessary to drive the advancement of site operational activities * Enforce policies, managing site operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources. * Responsible for site operations HSE including implementation and enforcement of HSE culture. Ensuring an active safety & loss management system is organizationally embedded, inclusive of reporting/recording incidents and implementation of corrective actions (continuous improvement), including government and all applicable regulatory bodies * Responsible for implementation and enforcement of Loss Control Program * Site operational execution in accordance to approved business plan and budget. Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities for site operations and increase efficiency * Monitor third-party services to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits. Work cooperatively with Senior Management utilizing tender model to ensure safe, cost effective and efficient services are continuously maintained * Review financial statements regarding operational performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement * Assist in the generation of Authorization of Expenditures (AFE’s) for approval and assistance in supplemental AFE’s in the event of over/under expenditure Working Conditions • Variable work-week hours within a site operations office/field environment.
