New Federal Skilled Worker Program for 2014 - Breaking news Citizenship and Immigration Canada has announced that persons in the occupations below will be eligible to apply for the points system in May, 2014. Applicants must have obtained at least 1 year of continuous full-time experience in the occupation within the 10 year period before they apply (or must have the equivalent part-time experience). Applicants must have at least the minimum number of points and meet all other criteria, including having a minimum level of proficiency in English or French. This is exciting news because 25,000 places are available to applicants who qualify in one of the occupational categories below even if they do not have an offer of employment in Canada.
