New Graduate Donates to Ebola Fight An indigene of Valunia Chiefdom, Bo district over the week end donated a huge quantity of non food items to the people of that chiefdom as her own help to fight the Ebola disease in the chiefdom. Among the items donated were infrared thermometers, Veronica buckets, chlorine liquid, chlorine tablets and soap. Presenting the items to the people, Mariam Bayoh on behalf of the Bayoh Family of Mandu Valunia Chiefdom, said she appreciated the effort of all those who in diverse ways had made it possible for the success of the Ebola drive in the chiefdom. She said Ebola is a dreadful disease that even though cannot be cured, it is preventable. She therefore advised the people to follow the six steps to avoid the disease. She opined that the business of her chiefdom Valunia is her corporate responsibility now that she has gone through her academic struggles with flying colours adding that, she is always ready to save her people from bondage. Mariam lauded the effort of her Father Musa I.K. Bayoh, Chairman Board of Directors Global Times Communication who doubles as the Managing Director of (MIK) Trading Company Sierra Leone, for his relentlessness in giving her education as a legacy. Responding, the Paramount Chief of Valunia, PC James Borbor Vonjo highly commended their daughter Mariam Bayoh for her kind gesture. He said he was proud of her and hoped that the chiefdom’s acknowledgement will continue in her heart. He said there are elites in the chiefdom but none of them had ever thought of rendering them such assistance. “If a new graduate and unemployed individual could take the onus to donate, what if she starts working?” He said the sky will be the limit. Welcoming the chiefdom elders and the youths, the Chiefdom Speaker of Valunia, Daniel Ngeyawoi appreciated Mariam Bayoh for her wonderful gesture and described the donation as timely. He prayed that the God Almighty will continuously bless her in her undertakings. Mariama Bayoh recently completed her associate degree course in Accounting and Finance with distinction from the Institute of Commercial Management associated with the University of Boston, United Kingdom
